Frequently Asked Questions
-
A birth doula provides emotional, physical and informational support throughout pregnancy, labor, and birth. My role is to help you feel supported, informed, and confident during your experience.
-
Not at all. Doulas support all type of birth, including hospital births, medicated births, inductions, epidurals, cesarean births and unmedicated births. My role is to support you emotionally, physically, and informationally no matter what your birth experience looks like.
-
Absolutely! My role is to support both of you and your partner during labor and delivery, not replace them.
-
No. I do not provide medical or clinical care. I provide non-medical emotional, physical and educational support along side your medical providers.
-
Many families choose to hire a doula during the second trimester, but it’s never “too late” to seek support during pregnancy. Some moms book during the third trimester, and I will make sure all prenatal meetings and preparations are completed before baby’s arrival. You will feel supported and prepared no matter when the support begins.

Birth can be unpredictable, and sometimes plans or preferences may shift along the way. My role is to provide steady support and reassurance so you continue to feel supported and empowered throughout your experience. Even when birth takes unexpected turns, you still deserve to feel heard respected and cared for.
